Privacy Policy

Who is responsible for your information?
ModularMicros.IO is operated by Mike J Douglass, trading as Modular Micros, based in Connecticut, United States. Modular Micros is a business name, not an incorporated company. Mike J Douglass is responsible for the personal information described in this notice and is the data controller where UK data protection law applies. Contact hello@modularmicros.io with questions or privacy requests.
What we collect and why
Our hosting provider, GoDaddy, may process IP addresses, browser details, request times and server logs to deliver and protect this website. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include so we can answer your enquiry. Where UK law applies, these activities rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and responding to enquiries.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics processes visit and device information to help us understand how the website is used. This includes pages visited, browser and device characteristics and approximate location derived by Google from connection information. Where UK law applies, we rely on your consent. We do not intentionally send email addresses to Analytics or use it to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about individuals.
Newsletter signup
We use Brevo to process newsletter subscriptions and send emails. When you subscribe, your email address and subscription information are sent to Brevo. We use double opt-in: you must click the confirmation link emailed to you before joining our newsletter list. We use your consent to send the news and updates described on the form. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us. Brevo processes subscription and confirmation records and technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. The embedded form also requests resources from Brevo when this page loads; this is separate from optional Google Analytics.
Cookies and analytics choices
Analytics is off until you accept it. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from reading the site. Your choice is saved in browser storage as mm-consent-v1 for 180 days. If storage is unavailable, your choice may last only for the current page.
When enabled, Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_… cookies to distinguish visits. We request a maximum 180-day cookie lifetime without automatic extension. Use to change your choice. Withdrawal disables further collection and removes accessible Analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete information already sent to Google.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. No advertising or social-media tracking pixels are included. Google Analytics is the third-party measurement service used after consent; Google's handling of information is explained in Google's Privacy Policy. To turn off analytics on this site, choose “Reject optional” or use “Cookie settings”. Your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting does not make that choice automatically. We do not conduct sales or targeted-advertising processing to which a Global Privacy Control opt-out would apply.
Spam protection
Our newsletter form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated and abusive submissions. When the form loads and you interact with it, Google may process information such as your IP address, browser and device details, cookies and interaction signals to assess whether the request is from a person. This security service is separate from optional Google Analytics and loads even if you reject analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Where UK law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the signup service for this security processing.
Providers and international processing
We operate in the United States. Information may be processed there and in other countries where GoDaddy, Google and Brevo operate. These providers receive information needed to perform their hosting, analytics and newsletter services. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. See GoDaddy's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy and Brevo’s Privacy Policy for their processing practices.
Where UK law requires safeguards for a restricted international transfer, the relevant arrangement must use a permitted mechanism, such as applicable adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for details of the safeguards applicable to your information. Accepting cookies does not waive your rights or replace those safeguards.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiries while responding and for any follow-up, dispute or legal obligation that reasonably requires the correspondence. Hosting logs are retained under the host's operational and security settings. Analytics records are retained according to the property's configured retention period; cookie lifetimes are separate from report-data retention. We review information and delete it when it is no longer needed for these purposes. You may contact us to request deletion or more detail about applicable retention. We keep active newsletter details while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we retain only records reasonably needed to respect your opt-out, demonstrate consent or meet legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion or details of subscription records.
UK privacy rights
Where UK data protection law applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights depend on the circumstances. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
US privacy rights
Rights vary by state and by whether a law applies to the business and processing concerned. Where applicable, they may include access, correction, deletion, portability and opting out of sale, targeted advertising or certain profiling. We do not use personal information for those sale, advertising or profiling purposes.
Send requests to hello@modularmicros.io. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity or an agent's authority. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we deny a request, you may reply with “Privacy appeal” to ask us to reconsider. Where applicable, we will explain our appeal decision and how to contact your state regulator. Connecticut residents can contact the Connecticut Attorney General's Office.
Changes to this notice
We will post changes on this page with an updated date and provide additional notice where required for material changes. If our location, providers or use of information changes, this notice will be updated to reflect the actual arrangements.
